Specimen booklet for for the typeface “Grille”.

The typeface was born from my time studying at London College of Communication, with the initial sketches for the typeface being inspired directly by the architectural features of the design block.

The design of the booklet reflects the form of the iconic LCC tower, and serves as something of an homage, as it is now facing demolition. The typeface references the metal grates that appear between the floors of the design block and seeks to explore the space between two and three dimensions in both styles “Contour” and “Void”.
